PCB Shares – October 2026 | Faith, Finance and Community

Celebrating our heritage, strengthening our communities and building financial futures.

Welcome to the October 2026 edition of PCB Shares, the newsletter from Pentecostal Community Bank.

This month, we mark Black History Month and International Credit Union Day, reflecting on the remarkable contributions of Black communities to Britain's financial and social history.

From African traditions of collective saving and Caribbean pardner systems to the pioneering work of the Windrush generation, we explore how cooperation, resilience and faith helped create financial opportunities for communities often excluded from mainstream banking.

We also celebrate the enduring legacy of PCB's founders, Rev Carmel Jones and Mother Iveline Jones, whose vision of financial empowerment and community service continues to guide our work today.

Inside this edition:

  • Faith, finance and freedom: Honouring Black history, community savings traditions and the pioneers of British credit unions.

  • Celebrating Bishop Geoffrey Folkes: Recognising the installation of PCB's Vice Chair as Jurisdictional Bishop.

  • Developing tomorrow's leaders: Welcoming the new PCB Youth Shadow Board and its commitment to leadership and financial confidence.

  • Small savings, big difference: Exploring how regular saving habits can help build long-term financial resilience.

  • Listening to our members: Reflecting on our 2025 member feedback and the importance of combining digital convenience with personal service.

  • Financial planning: Guidance on navigating periods of market uncertainty.

  • Community news and opportunities: Featuring Natural Solutions Expo 2026 and insights from Dr Teri Okoro on creating more inclusive organisations.

At Pentecostal Community Bank, we believe that financial services should do more than facilitate transactions. They should strengthen communities, create opportunities and help people build more secure financial futures.
