Revd. Carmel Jones - PCU founder shares his life story
The Revd. Carmel Jones, who founded the PCU back in 1979, has published his autobiography. It’s a fascinating account of his life and work in the Pentecostal community.
The fifth of six children, the Revd. Jones grew up in the Bye-berry district, in the Parish of St. Elizabeth in Jamaica.
He arrived in England on 21 August 1955 and, the following year, met Iveline - the woman who would become his wife, and mother to their three children.
A mechanical engineer by trade, the Revd. Jones became a Pentecostal church leader by vocation. At the core of the story is a record of his spiritual journey. It also recounts the early years of the Pentecostal Credit Union. Told with humour and in faith, this is an uplifting story.
